Amber is a rare and valuable resource used for purchasing permanent upgrades between runs. It drops from tougher enemies, boss encounters, and can sometimes be found in hidden caches. Actively seeking out and collecting Amber is crucial for long-term progression. The 'Geologist' achievement is awarded for picking up 1,000 Amber over your lifetime, and 'Rock Collector' for collecting 200 Amber in a single run.

To maximize Amber collection, prioritize defeating elite enemies and bosses. Some challenges may also reward Amber upon completion. Consider relics or upgrades that increase resource drop rates if you're focusing on accumulating Amber. Remember that Amber is a persistent resource, meaning your lifetime total contributes to the 'Geologist' achievement, even if you don't spend it all in one go.
