First Contact on Xylos

You'll start in the landing zone, a dusty, rocky area with scattered debris. Your first task is to find the Xylosian Envoy. Keep your eyes peeled for any signs of life or unusual structures. The Envoy is usually found near the large, crystalline rock formations that dot this region. Head towards the cluster of these formations to your north-east.

As you approach the crystals, you'll likely run into some of Xylos's native fauna. These creatures look like scuttling, insectoid beings with sharp mandibles. They're fast and tend to attack in small groups. Use your sidearm, the 'Pulse Pistol', to keep them at bay. Aim for their glowing weak spots – usually their heads – for critical hits. Don't let them surround you; try to keep moving and use the terrain for cover.

Once you've dealt with the wildlife, you'll find the Envoy's dropped communication device near the largest crystal. Pick it up by walking over it. This device is crucial for establishing contact, but it's damaged. You'll need to find a way to repair it.

Your scanner will pick up a faint signal indicating a potential repair kit in a nearby abandoned outpost. This outpost is located to the west, across a small ravine. You'll need to make a short jump across the ravine – time your jump carefully to avoid falling.

The outpost is guarded by automated turrets. They have a predictable firing pattern, so observe them for a moment before making your move. You can either try to sneak past them or disable them with precise shots to their power cores, located on their sides. Once inside the main building of the outpost, you'll find the repair kit on a workbench.

With the repair kit in hand, return to the communication device. Use the repair kit on it (interact with the device). Once repaired, activate it. This will send out a distress signal, and the Xylosian Envoy will appear shortly. Approach the Envoy to complete the mission.
