To actually get it, though, you'll need to beat their ghost in a Grand Prix. Pretty neat, right? Plus, if you get a part this way, it actually lowers the coin requirement for unlocking other random parts. So if you snag the Beast Glider via StreetPass, you'd only need 4500 coins to unlock all the regular parts instead of 5000!
