Part 10

Run through the upcoming area as quickly as possible and enter the open door on the north wall.

Before entering the door, heal yourself with a RATION (F3).

Through the door is the ninth boss of the game, Metal Gear.

To defeat Metal Gear, use PLASTIC EXPLOSIVES (F2) in the order R, R, L, R, L, L, R, L, L, R, R, L, R, L, R, R.

Place the PLASTIC EXPLOSIVES on its feet.

Avoid the lasers fired by the cameras moving back and forth along the wall.

Use RATIONS (F3) to heal when needed.

When all 16 PLASTIC EXPLOSIVES are placed correctly, Metal Gear will explode, taking the cameras with it and initiating the Outer Heaven self-destruct system.

A timer will appear on the bottom of the screen, and an emergency message will appear in a text box.

The door to your left will open. Heal yourself with a RATION (F3).

Enter the door to fight your final boss, Big Boss.

Use your ROCKET LAUNCHER (F2) to defeat Big Boss. 5-10 hits should be sufficient.

Use the crates for protection from Big Boss's gunshots. BODY ARMOR also helps reduce damage.

Use a RATION or two (F3) if needed.

After the fight, smoke CIGARETTES (F3) to gain more time to escape.

The door on the north wall will open. Enter the door.

Climb the leftmost ladder as instructed by Jennifer's brother.

Climb to the surface to trigger a cutscene (a non-interactive cinematic the game plays automatically) of Solid Snake escaping Outer Heaven as it explodes.

Solid Snake calls Big Boss's frequency, reporting that Metal Gear was destroyed and Operation Intrude N313 was a success.

Solid Snake tunes into a radio station reporting a large explosion at Outer Heaven around midnight.

The credits will roll, and the screen will fade to black.

A text box will display Big Boss saying it's not over yet and he'll meet Snake again someday.
