New Silkbind Attack: Spiral Slash

Spiral Slash is a new damage-focused Silkbind Attack for the Dual Blades. It attaches ironsilk to the monster before launching the hunter in a drill-like attack that hits multiple times. This rapid succession of hits is ideal for applying status effects and dealing significant damage to elemental weaknesses. The attack can also be performed mid-air.

How to unlock Spiral Slash

To unlock Spiral Slash, you must first complete the MR3★ Urgent Quest “Ice Wolf, Red Moon” to reach Master Rank 4. After reaching MR4, speak with Master Utsushi in the Kamura Gathering Hub to unlock the second batch of Switch Skills, which includes Spiral Slash.

New Switch Skill: Slide Slash Combo

The Slide Slash Combo is a new evasive technique that allows for movement and attacks while avoiding monster attacks. It can counter with a flurry of blades if it connects with a monster during its attack animation.

How to unlock Slide Slash Combo

This technique can be learned early in the expansion. After defeating the Daimyo Hermitaur from Rondine's quest, you will travel to Elgado. Speak with Master Arlow, and eventually Master Utsushi, who will grant you the first batch of new Switch Skills, including the Slide Slash Combo.

New Switch Skill: Ironshine Silk

Ironshine Silk is a temporary buff that coats your blades with a special silk, granting a small amount of weapon sharpness. Evasive movements, such as the Shrouded Vault, while the buff is active will grant additional sharpness with each successful evade.

How to unlock Ironshine Silk

Similar to Spiral Slash, Ironshine Silk is unlocked after completing the MR3★ Urgent Quest “Ice Wolf, Red Moon” and reaching Master Rank 4. Speak with Master Utsushi in the Kamura Gathering Hub to acquire this skill as part of the second batch of Switch Skills.

Switch Skill Swap

The Switch Skill Swap is a new system that allows players to change their equipped Silkbind Attacks and Switch Skills mid-battle. You can assign two sets of skills to a red and blue scroll. By interacting with an Item Box at the hub or in a tent during a quest, you can customize which skills are assigned to each scroll. This system, along with the Swap Evade (which allows for directional evasion after swapping sets by pressing the roll button), aims to significantly change the gameplay dynamics of Monster Hunter Rise.
