IV. Glitches

Discover glitches in NFL 2K1 gameplay, including punting, fumbling, and franchise mode bugs. Learn how to exploit them.

Glitches:

• Punting Glitch: When punting, punt high to the left. If the opponent fair catches, tackle them. This incorrectly results in a 2nd and 10 situation instead of 1st and 10.
• End Zone Fumble Glitch: If you fumble in your own end zone and the ball goes out of bounds, it should be a safety. Instead, the ball is placed on your one-yard line, giving you possession.
• PA Announcer Glitch: Occasionally, the PA announcer will state "There's a flag on the play" even when no penalty has occurred.
• Penalty Decline Glitch: When you decline a penalty, the sports anchor may comment, "I don't understand the logic in this. They should have accepted the penalty," even if accepting the penalty would have resulted in losing a touchdown.
• Franchise Mode Rookie Glitch: If you load a franchise file from the VMU (Virtual Memory Unit) during your second or later season, all your rookies will have a zero rating in Exhibition mode.
• Defensive Viewpoint Glitch: While on defense, press and hold L or R with a defensive back. Without releasing L or R, select a lineman. The viewpoint will remain locked in the L or R perspective.
• Punt Out of Bounds Announcer Glitch: When you let a punt go into the end zone and your opponent touches it, the announcer may say, "In front of everyone," as if they were about to score a touchdown.
• 0:00 Timeout Glitch: If you call a timeout when the game clock shows 0:00, the clock will remain at 0:00, forcing you to reboot your Dreamcast (a console system).
