Understanding the CC System:
The CC (Chain Capacity) system might seem a bit tricky at first, especially if you're used to the TP system from other Tales games. But don't worry, it's pretty straightforward once you get the hang of it!
Basically, CC is what you use for actions like attacking, free-running, and dodging. You'll get CC back by guarding, running forward, landing combos, and successfully dodging enemy attacks.
There are two main types of attacks: A-Artes and B-Artes. A-Artes are your standard physical hits, while B-Artes are more about magic, elements, or healing. You can string these together to create combos.
A-Artes work in a sequence: the first X press is a 1CC attack, the next is a 2CC attack, and so on, up to 4CC before it loops back. You can change which specific A-Arte you use by holding a direction on the Left Stick.
B-Artes can be used repeatedly as long as you have the CC for them, and each one has its own CC cost. Some enemies have barriers that can only be broken by B-Artes.
A good starting strategy is to hold Guard until your CC is full, then rush in to attack. When you run out of CC, back off, let it recharge, and then go back in. The game's tutorial system is great and will explain this more as you play!
The Importance of Titles:
Titles in Tales of Graces f are a big deal – they're not just for show! They combine elements from Vesperia's weapon system and Symphonia's stat growth. When you equip a title, you earn SP in battle. As your titles level up, they grant permanent skills, stat boosts, and even new Artes. Plus, every title has a passive effect that benefits you while equipped.
You'll earn titles by meeting certain conditions, and there are a ton of them! You can choose how you want to level them up. The Auto-Equip feature can automatically equip new titles based on your rank settings. If you master a title, you'll get a double boost to its passive effect when it's equipped.
