How to Beat The Frostfang Alpha (Chapter 1)

Defeat The Frostfang Alpha in Chapter 1 of The First Berserker: Khazan by dodging its lunge and tail swipe, and managing summoned Dire Wolf pups.

Phase 1: Primal Hunter

The Frostfang Alpha is a massive, mutated wolf. It's incredibly agile and focuses on quick, brutal attacks. Its primary moves include a lunging bite, a tail swipe (when you're behind it), and a howl that summons two Dire Wolf pups. The lunging bite is fast; dodge to the side. The tail swipe is telegraphed by a slight twitch of its tail; dodge forward through it to stay close. When it howls, immediately prioritize the Dire Wolf pups. They have low health but can interrupt your attacks. Use wide-sweeping attacks like Whirlwind Cleave to deal with them quickly. The Frostfang Alpha is vulnerable to fire damage, so if you have any fire-enchanted weapons or consumables, now is the time to use them.

Phase 2: Frozen Fury (Below 60% HP)

At around 60% health, the Frostfang Alpha will roar, covering itself in a thin layer of ice, granting it increased defense and making its attacks inflict a 'Chill' status effect, slowing your movement. It gains a new attack: an ice breath cone attack that covers a wide area in front of it. This attack has a long wind-up, giving you time to dodge to its flanks. It will also perform a ground slam that creates small ice shards around it; dodge away from the impact zone. Continue to eliminate the summoned pups quickly. Focus on breaking its ice armor with heavy attacks. Rewards: Frostfang's Pelt (Crafting Material), Alpha's Fang (Accessory), 1200 Gold, 2 Skill Points.
