In the red sleeping car, overhear conductor Coudert and the trainmaster discussing the lost master key.

Enter compartment G to trigger a cutscene (a non-interactive cinematic the game plays automatically) (a cinematic event that advances the story) where Mr. Milos Jovanovic explains that Tyler Whitney was ordered to sell 'The Firebird' treasure for money to purchase weapons from 'the German' (herr Schmidt). Tyler was to sell the treasure to Kronos and use his gold to buy weapons from herr Schmidt. Tyler was found murdered, the treasure gone, leaving the Serbians without weapons and facing the 'Black Hand'. You must recover the treasure or obtain the gold to pay off Schmidt.

In the restaurant car, observe herr Schmidt, the Boutarel family, and Tatiana at breakfast.

Talk to Tatiana; if you gave her the poem earlier, she will give you its translation. If not, Robert will give her the poem for translation automatically. Tatiana will then chat with Alexei, revealing they were childhood friends.

You can chat with herr Schmidt, who slept through the night's events.

Observe conductor Coudert's sketchbook when he is busy with a passenger.

Find Francois Boutarel running around, talking about a lost black beetle and entering the harem's chambers against his mother's wishes.

In the lounge room, find Francois Boutarel's missing black beetle. Use the empty box of matches from Tyler's jacket to scoop up the beetle when it is near the edge of the table.

Trade the captured beetle with Francois for his expensive whistle. Francois will later return with a suitable item to trade for the whistle.

Place the golden scarab whistle (obtained from Francois) in the orange box in Tyler's room; this is one of the missing treasures.

A renewed newspaper is available for reading.

Knock on Kronos's door. If you know about 'The Firebird' from Tatiana's translation or Milos, Robert can use this to persuade Kahina to let you in.

After talking with Kronos, eavesdrop at the door farther down to hear Kronos instruct Kahina. Kronos believes ms. Wolff has the Firebird, but it may have been entrusted to Tatiana.

When the ladies from compartment E are in the restaurant car, sneak into their room when conductor Coudert is busy or another passenger distracts him.

Read ms. Norton's diary again, which contains her impressions of other passengers and her feelings for Sophie and ms. Anna Wolff.

Herr Schmidt joins the ladies in the lounge car before Munich and scares them away with flirtatious behavior.

After the ladies leave, herr Schmidt paces the hallway as the Orient Express nears Munich, needing to load merchandise.
