4.18. Saving & Sharing Lots
The ability to save and share your creations is a cornerstone of The Sims 4 community. Whether you've designed a dream home, a bustling community lot, or a unique park, saving your work ensures it's preserved, and sharing allows you to contribute to the vibrant Gallery. This feature empowers players to showcase their architectural prowess and inspire others.
Saving a lot to your personal library is straightforward. Once you are satisfied with your build, simply enter Build Mode. In the top right corner of the screen, you'll find the Save to My Library button (it looks like a floppy disk icon). Clicking this will prompt you to give your lot a name and description. You can also choose to upload it to the Gallery at this stage by checking the 'Upload to Gallery' box. If you choose to upload, you'll have the opportunity to add hashtags, which helps other players discover your creation.
The Gallery is a central hub where You can upload and download creations from other Sims players worldwide. To access the Gallery, click the Gallery icon (a lightbulb) in the top right corner of the screen. Here, you can browse by categories such as Lots, Rooms, Sims, and Stories. You can filter by packs used, popularity, or even search for specific items or styles. When you find a lot you like, you can download it directly into your game, either to play with as is or to edit and customize further.
Steps to Save and Share
- Complete Your Build: Finish designing and furnishing your lot.
- Enter Build Mode: Access the build interface.
- Click Save Icon: Locate and click the 'Save to My Library' button (floppy disk).
- Name and Describe: Provide a title and description for your lot.
- Upload to Gallery (Optional): Check the 'Upload to Gallery' box if you wish to share it publicly. Add relevant hashtags.
- Confirm Save: Click the checkmark to save your lot to your library.
Downloading from the Gallery
- Access Gallery: Click the Gallery icon (lightbulb) in the top right.
- Browse or Search: Explore different categories or use the search bar.
- Filter Results: Narrow down your search by pack, creator, or popularity.
- View Lot: Click on a lot to see screenshots and details.
- Download: Click the 'Download' button to add the lot to your game.
Tips for Sharing
- High-Quality Screenshots: When uploading, ensure your screenshots are clear and showcase the best aspects of your build.
- Descriptive Titles and Descriptions: Help players understand what your lot is about.
- Relevant Hashtags: Use tags like #modern, #familyhome, #starterhome, #communitylot, or specific pack names to increase discoverability.
- Consider Pack Usage: If your build uses many items from specific packs, mention it in the description or use relevant hashtags.
- Be Original: While inspiration is great, try to put your own unique spin on dess.
Saving your creations to your library is essential for backup and personal use. Sharing them on the Gallery is a fantastic way to engage with the Sims community, gain recognition for your hard work, and discover an endless supply of inspiration for your own game.
