4.19. Blueprints & Room Templates
Elevate your building efficiency and des consistency in The Sims 4 with Blueprints and Room Templates. These powerful tools, introduced in the 'Dream Home Decorator' Game Pack and available in Build Mode, allow you to save, reuse, and share entire rooms or even pre-designed house layouts. They are invaluable for both seasoned builders and newcomers looking to create stunning homes quickly.
Room Templates are essentially pre-built, fully furnished rooms that you can place directly into your build. When you enter Build Mode, you'll find a new tab dedicated to Room Templates. These are categorized by room type (e.g., Kitchen, Bedroom, Bathroom) and style. Clicking on a template will show you a preview. Once selected, you can place it like any other object. The template will appear as a pre-fabricated room, complete with walls, flooring, wallpaper, furniture, and decorations. You can then customize it further by moving, deleting, or adding items to perfectly match your vision.
Blueprints take this concept a step further by allowing you to save entire sections of your build, including walls, floors, and objects, as reusable blueprints. To create a blueprint, you first need to select the area you want to save. You can do this by using the Marquee Tool (which looks like a dotted rectangle) to draw a box around the desired area. Once selected, click the Save Blueprint icon (a blueprint scroll). You'll then be prompted to name your blueprint. After saving, this blueprint will be available in your library under the 'Blueprints' tab. You can then place this blueprint into any of your lots, effectively copying the saved structure and its contents.
