Navigate St. Francis' Folly in Tomb Raider I•II•III Remastered. Learn to defeat Pierre, find 4 secrets, and avoid damage.
Walkthrough
- 1Upon entering the area, you will encounter two lions. Climb onto the ledge on the left to shoot them from safety.
- 2Head right and push the block forward (West) to open the door.
- 3Approach the building and kill the 2 gorillas from outside, being careful not to step on the tile with the Omega symbol. If the gorillas get too close, backhop off the front ledge; they cannot follow you there.
- 4Option 1: Fight Pierre. Head inside the building and throw both switches. Kill the gorilla that emerges from your left. You can step on the Omega tile if choosing this option.
- 5To fight Pierre, run off the ledge and stop in the gap between the ledge and the first line of pillars. When Pierre appears, start side-jumping left and right while firing. If he advances, jump over him, twist or roll, and continue side-jumping while firing.
- 6If Pierre has taken enough damage (about half health in Remastered with a health bar), hide behind a pillar so he is no longer visible. He will disappear.
- 7Option 2: Avoid Pierre. To avoid this fight, do not step on the Omega symbol tile in the doorway to the building.
- 8To enter the room without triggering Pierre, stand about a half-step behind the Omega tile and to one side (e.g., the left). Jump towards the far left corner of the room.
Tips
- This level has 4 Secrets, 19 pickups, 23 kills, and 1 breakaway tile.
- There are 6 Trophies to be earned. Conflicting Trophies can be acquired by earning one and then reloading.
- There are 5 Save Crystals spaced well throughout the level.
- Skipping the first gunfight with Pierre saves time and grief.
- Be very careful in the tall room with the locks at the bottom; a false step can lead to a Game Over. Take your time.
- It is advised to skip the last Secret due to the time and risk involved for a modest return.
- In the final battle with Pierre, 4 shotgun shells followed by hiding behind a column was effective.
- Enemies like Pierre will disappear on their own after inflicting a certain amount of damage.
- These enemies generally have a preferred avenue of escape. Blocking this path can cause them to continue firing.
- Damage is inversely proportional to distance; shooting from a distance while hopping side-to-side is a defensive strategy.
- Avoiding the fight with Pierre by not releasing him has no negative consequences and does not count as a kill.
- Save frequently, especially after completing a step successfully in the Remastered version.
