Sit and watch the introduction sequence. This sequence explains the game's background: long ago, humans and monsters warred, and the monsters were defeated and sealed underground at Mt. Ebott.

When you start a new game, you will be asked to name the fallen human.
Tips
You have a maximum of 6 characters for a name.
Be mindful that certain names will trigger a response from the game, particularly names borrowed from in-game characters.
It is advised not to select "Frisk" as your name.
