Walkthrough
- 1First Mission: An unnamed introductory mission. Follow the river up the mountain to meet Okudera and Baba. You will receive Simple Cold Wear and a Horizontal Double Rifle.
- 2Hunter Lesson: Okudera teaches you hunting basics. Hunt deer (does or stags) and automatically give Deer Meat to Nishina-san. You will receive the Ice Walk skill.
- 3Creeping Terror: Meet the trader, who sells traps, repair kits, and rations. Set Snares at marked trap sites (gray diamonds on the minimap (the small circular map in the bottom-left corner of your screen)). After trapping a rabbit, fend off Yama-oroshi. You will receive Special Cold Wear and the Snowman skill.
- 4White Darkness: Follow footprints to find Kihachi. He will give you a free Leghold Trap.
- 5The Third Man: Speak to Narumi near the village entrance. Okudera gives you a Vertical Double Rifle. Follow the map marker to a wrecked boulder, then head west to find Narumi. You will receive the Spotter skill.
- 6Kill or Be Killed: Okudera has a fever. Find and follow bear tracks to the central clearing to confront the bear. Collect spoils from the Bear.
- 7Hubris: Find and collect eight scattered bear bait spots marked on the map. Confront bears attracted by the bait. Head to the marked spot to witness Narumi get attacked by Yama-oroshi. You must then run back down the mountain. You will receive the Stealth skill.
- 8Pride's Toll: Follow a blood trail to an ice cave in the northeast to find Narumi. You must escort him back to the entrance slowly to avoid losing him, while encountering enemies.
Tips
- Delay extensive exploration until bears appear; tutorials will guide you initially.
- Repair and utilize Hunting Huts (marked by little houses on the map) to replenish ammo and health. Always carry a Hut Repair Kit until all four are repaired.
- Traps are useful for small catches, but focus on hunting larger game for more money.
- Be aware that stags can charge and attack you.
- Use meats and plants you carry to restore health if a Hunting Hut is not nearby.
- Selling to the trader yields less money than selling to Ebisu Pawn, but saves travel time between missions.
