Guide to Kazuma Kiryu's story in Yakuza 5, covering Chapter 1 (The Wanderer) and Chapter 2 (Uninvited Guest), including taxi missions and substories.
Walkthrough:
- Part 1 - Chapter 1 - The Wanderer
- Begin as Kazuma Kiryu, now a taxi driver.
- Save at the punch clock and access the Item Box if desired.
- Leave the office; several locations will be marked on the map to buy a gift for Tenjin Transportation.
- Choose a gift from locations like convenience stores, Le Marche, Tsuruya, or Fukuya (southeast block).
- Head to the marked office on Gion St. West and present the gift.
- Call your boss and confirm things are settled.
- Go to the M Store and use the ATM to send 10,000 yen.
- As you leave, you will be approached by shifty characters. Engage them in combat to learn the basics of fighting and Heat Actions (e.g., Wall Crush).
- After the fight, you will gain a level. Spend the 3 Soul Points on skills like Essence of Finishing and Double Finishing Blow.
- Head north to Ose Bridge and speak to Nakajima to start your night out.
- First stop: Hanamidori restaurant.
- Next, walk to a food stall and intervene in an altercation with some men harassing a woman.
- Continue to another food stall, then proceed to the Olivier hostess club.
- At Olivier, fight yakuza punks who are making too much noise. These enemies are tougher, can guard, and counter Rush Combos. Use environmental items and the Toughness ZZ energy drink if needed. Mash buttons to build Heat for a finishing move.
- After the fight, you are free to roam, but street enemies will now attack. Look for enemies with pink word balloons.
- To continue the story, return to Kiryu's Apartment (marked on the map).
- Upon arrival, the young man who was watching you earlier will approach and escort you to an empty lot for a fight.
- Learn and use Kiryu's Dragon Spirit (R2/RT with Heat) to defeat Sosuke Komaki.
- Sosuke Komaki is Kiryu's Master; you can return to him later to learn new moves.
- After the fight, you can roam more or choose to go home.
- Enter Kiryu's Apartment hideout, which serves as a save point and item box. Health regenerates here.
