How to Beat Megapithecus (The Island)

Defeat the Megapithecus boss in Ark: Survival Evolved. Utilize high-level Rexes and a Yutyrannus to counter its rock throws and summoned Gigantopithecus.

• Beta: 2x Artifact of the Brute, 2x Artifact of the Pack, 2x Artifact of the Skylord, 20x Allosaurus Brain, 20x Spino Sail, 20x Tyrannosaurus Arm, 1x Alpha Raptor Claw, 1x Alpha Carno Arm, 1x Alpha Rex Arm
• Alpha: 3x Artifact of the Brute, 3x Artifact of the Pack, 3x Artifact of the Skylord, 30x Allosaurus Brain, 30x Spino Sail, 30x Tyrannosaurus Arm, 2x Alpha Raptor Claw, 2x Alpha Carno Arm, 2x Alpha Rex Arm

Recommended Tames:

• 18-19x High-level, imprinted Rexes (with good saddles)
• 1x High-level, imprinted Yutyrannus (for courage roar and debuff)

Strategy:

The Megapithecus is a giant ape that throws rocks and summons Gigantopithecus and Direwolves. Rexes are the standard choice due to their high health and damage. The arena is a snowy mountain peak, so bring Fur Armor for your survivor. Position your Rexes carefully to avoid being knocked off the ledges by the Megapithecus's attacks. Have your Yutyrannus constantly buff your Rexes. Focus all your creatures' attacks on the Megapithecus. The summoned creatures are less of a threat and will be dealt with by your Rexes' area attacks. Be prepared for a long fight, especially on Alpha difficulty.
