This guide details how to access and utilize the Gateway Engine in Astroneer. Missions are objectives that guide players through the game, offering rewards such as Bytes, Schematics, and various Items like the QT-RTG or EXO Chip.

Mission Log: The Mission Log, accessible from the Landing Pad or Logistics Depots, allows players to track missions and claim rewards. It can also be accessed via the action wheel (PC: Hold R, Xbox: Hold D-Pad Right, PS4: Hold D-Pad Right, Switch: Hold Right) or by clicking the right side of the backpack. The log has five sections: Rewards, Tracked, Active, Reclaimable, and Complete.

Missions: Completing missions unlocks subsequent missions and provides rewards. Key early missions include:

1. Planetfall: Arrive on Sylva. Reward: Oxygenator, Small Printer.
2. Astroneering Bas(e)ics: Unpack and install Oxygenator, connect Printer power. Reward: Tethers, 500 Bytes.
3. Breathing Space: Print a Tether Bundle and connect a Tether to the Oxygenator. Reward: Small Canister, 500 Bytes.
4. Resourcing: Gather 4 Compound and 4 Resin. Reward: Medium Storage, 2 Medium Platform A, Oxygenator Schematic.
5. Landfilling: Fill a Small Canister with Soil. Reward: 500 Bytes.
6. Re-Tooling: Unlock, print, and attach a Boost Mod and Drill Mod 1 to your Terrain Tool. Reward: Soil Centrifuge, Soil Centrifuge Schematic.
