Alright, let's talk about Perpetva. She's a knight of the Anointed Legion and, importantly, the sister of Esdras. You'll first run into her in the Mountains of the Endless Dusk, right after a Prie Dieu, coming from the Desecrated Cistern. Now, here's a heads-up: if you talk to her at her tomb before this, she won't ambush you here. But if you haven't, she'll pop out of a lightning-struck tree and you'll have to fight her. ### First Encounter Perpetva has a few moves you need to watch out for: * Lightning Strike: She'll call down lightning. It looks like a particle effect, and it's not super fast or accurate, but it hits multiple times. * Quick Lightning Strike: A faster lightning strike that's tough to dodge with a slide. It does decent damage, so be careful if your health is low. * Lance Charge: After a bit, or if she's taken some damage, she'll charge at you with her sword. This one's slow and pretty obvious when it's coming. Strategy Tip: The Prayer 'Seguiriya to your Eyes like Stars,' which boosts attack speed, is super helpful here. Try to be aggressive and end the fight quickly, but always keep an eye out for those lightning telegraphs. Her charge attack leaves her open for a good while after she finishes it, so that's your chance to get some hits in. Jump attacks are also really effective against her. Important Note: If you defeat her here, you'll get the rosary bead, Perpetva's Protection. If you die to her, she disappears, and you'll need to start a new game or New Game+ to get the 'The Sister' achievement. So, try not to die! She'll show up again later during the fight with Esdras. If you didn't defeat her in the Mountains, Perpetva's Protection will appear near the tree where you first fought her after Esdras is down. If you did defeat her, she'll just be part of that fight. ### The Sister Achievement To get the The Sister achievement, you just need to beat Perpetva. Just remember, if you die to her during your first encounter, that achievement becomes missable for that playthrough.
