Alright, Vault Hunter! Ready to track down some of those elusive Vault Key Fragments in The Fadefields? It can be a bit of a scavenger hunt, but don't worry, I've got your back. We'll find all three of them so you can get to that sweet, sweet Vault loot. Let's dive in!
Vault Key Fragment #1
Your first stop is the southwestern part of Coastal Bonescape, in a little village called Stillshore. When you roll up, expect some company – you'll need to clear out the enemies first. Once it's quiet, look for the building on the southwestern edge of the village. There's a porch on the side that's a bit sneaky to spot, but the fragment is chilling on a crate right there. Keep your eyes peeled!
Vault Key Fragment #2
Next up, we're heading north of Coastal Bonescape to a sub-region called The Howl. You'll naturally pass through here during an early story mission, specifically near a faction town called The Launchpad. Right by the road, just north of town, there's an active checkpoint – that's your starting point. From there, head east a bit and approach the tall mountain from the north. You'll see a grapple point. Use it to zip up to the cliff, then make a jump to the next level. You'll find a small cave; the fragment is right out in the open inside. Easy peasy!
Vault Key Fragment #3
The final fragment is in the Idolator’s Noose area, over on the eastern side of The Fadefields. You'll need to clear out enemies at Rosemary’s Reserve first. Once things are calm, look near the Propaganda Speaker. You'll see a crate you can grapple to pull. Do that, and it'll open up a small area underneath the main part of the location. Inside, you'll find a red chest and, more importantly, the Vault Key Fragment.
Finding the Vault Entrance
If you saved the last fragment at Rosemary's Reserve for last, the Vault itself is just southeast of there. Look for a big plateau north of where the vault symbol appears on your radar. Get to the top of that plateau – your radar will guide you. Once you're close enough, a pedestal will pop out of the ground. Interact with it to place your key fragments, and boom, the gate to the Vault will construct. Get ready for some waves of enemies and then a boss fight!
