How does the game work?

Clash Royale is a mobile strategy game by Supercell, blending card game and tower defense elements. Players battle 1v1 on a portrait-oriented battlefield, using Elixir to deploy cards that attack, defend, or fulfill strategic objectives. The primary goal is to destroy the opponent's King Tower while defending your own three towers (two Arena Towers and one King Tower). Battles have a time limit, with overtime and Sudden Death rounds determining the winner if no King Tower is destroyed. Elixir generation doubles in the final 30 seconds and during Sudden Death, intensifying the gameplay.

The Arena's: Players start in Training mode and progress through various online arenas, each offering unique cards obtainable from chests earned by winning battles. Arenas also contribute to earning crowns and trophies.

In battle set up (1v1): The core objective is to destroy the opponent's King Tower. If time runs out, the focus shifts to destroying more Arena Towers than the opponent. In Sudden Death, the first player to destroy any tower wins. Destroying Arena Towers opens up access to the King Tower and grants crowns (1 for each Arena Tower, 3 for all towers). Even in defeat, earned crowns contribute to the Crown Chest. The King Tower, while having more health, has less damage output than Arena Towers, which have slightly more range. Both King and Arena Towers can be upgraded through player leveling. Battles are real-time with no turns, allowing continuous card deployment and spell usage.

In battle set up (2v2): This mode is available periodically for Clan Chest rewards and was expanded in the June 2017 update to include Draft mode, friendly battles, and challenge support. A permanent 2v2 mode allows players to team up with friends or clanmates, earning chests and crowns without risking trophies, making it ideal for Clan and Crown Chest progress and earning battle gold.
