Leaderboards, Trophies and Clans

Learn how to climb Clash Royale leaderboards by understanding trophies, joining clans, and participating in exciting Clan Events like the Clan Chest and Team Clan Chest.

Clash Royale features several systems that encourage player interaction and competition: Leaderboards, Trophies, and Clans. This guide breaks down how each works and how they benefit you.

Leaderboards: There are global and local leaderboards for both individual players and clans, as well as a Friends leaderboard accessible in the Social Tab. All leaderboards display the top 200 players or clans, ranked by trophy count. Trophies are earned by winning battles and lost by losing them.

Trophies: Trophies are the primary currency for climbing leaderboards and unlocking higher Arenas. Winning battles against players with more trophies yields more trophies (30-40+), while beating players with fewer trophies gives less. Conversely, losing to a lower-trophy player results in a larger trophy loss. Players in Arena 4 and above experience normal trophy gains and losses, making climbing more challenging than in lower Arenas where losses are less punishing.

Clans: Joining a clan offers several advantages. At King Level 3+, you can request cards every eight hours. You can also communicate with clan members, engage in friendly battles (without rewards), and participate in weekend Clan Events. Clans can set trophy requirements for entry, have customizable banners, and can be set to open or private. Creating a clan costs 2,000 gold. Donating upgrade points to clanmates earns you Gold and XP.

Clan Events: These weekend events involve all clan members contributing to a shared goal. There are two types:

• Clan Chest Event: Players earn crowns from ladder battles to upgrade the Clan Chest up to Tier 10, increasing card and gold rewards. A minimum of one crown is required to receive rewards. Leaving and rejoining a clan during the event forfeits rewards. This event alternates weekly with the Team Clan Chest Event and runs from Friday to Sunday.
• Team Clan Chest Event: Players team up with a clanmate to battle two members of an opposing clan. Wins, not crowns, upgrade the Team Clan Chest. Similar to the regular Clan Chest, a minimum of one win is needed to claim rewards. Leaving and rejoining a clan during the event forfeits rewards. This event alternates weekly with the Clan Chest Event and runs from Friday to Sunday. Both clans can spectate matches.

Social Tab: Introduced on September 19, 2016, the Social Tab allows you to search for clans, access your clan chat, donate cards, and engage in friendly battles. The Friends leaderboard is also located here, showing friends linked via social media. You can view their trophies, profiles, and clans, and challenge them to friendly battles or spectate their ongoing matches. Friendly matches can be initiated in clan chat, with spectating available since May 3, 2016.
