Explore all the multiplayer game modes in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, including Team Deathmatch, Domination, Uplink, Kill Confirmed, and more. Learn how to play and win each mode.

This guide covers the various multiplayer game modes available in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.

Core Game Modes

Moshpit

A compilation of popular game modes and maps, added in an update on December 4th, 2014. It includes:

  • Game Modes: Kill Confirmed, Team Deathmatch, Hardpoint, Uplink, Riot, Solar
  • Maps: Bio Lab, Comeback, Detroit, Retreat

Team Deathmatch

The main game mode where players score by killing enemy soldiers. The first team to reach 7500 points wins, with each kill worth 100 points/XP.

Domination

Players capture and hold three designated positions on the map. The team with more captured positions scores more points. The first team to reach a target score wins.

Kill Confirmed

Similar to Team Deathmatch, but kills only count when the dropped dog tag is collected. Collecting enemy (red) dog tags earns a point, while collecting friendly (blue) dog tags negates a point for the enemy. The first to 65 points wins.

Uplink

A new mode where players carry a Satellite Drone and score by throwing it into the enemy's goal (1 point) or jumping into the goal with it (2 points). The team with the higher score at the end wins.

Momentum

A new mode featuring five flags that appear sequentially on the map. Teams must capture all flags to score a point. The team with the most points at the end of the timer wins.

Hardpoint

A King-of-the-hill style mode where players score points by occupying small, temporary zones. The more players in a zone, the more points scored.

Search and Destroy

An attack/defend mode where the attacking team plants a bomb and the defending team defuses it. Players do not respawn after being killed, making each round a single life.

Search and Rescue

Combines elements of Search and Destroy and Kill Confirmed. Killed players drop dog tags. If an ally picks up the tag, the player respawns.

Capture the Flag

Players capture the enemy's flag and return it to their own territory to score. The team with the most captured flags wins.

Free-for-all

A mode where each player is on their own. The first player to reach 30 points wins.

Bonus Playlist

Infected

One player starts as infected. Infected players turn any players they kill into infected. The match ends when all players are infected.

Atlas Gorge

A mix of game modes played on the Atlas Gorge map. This playlist was available for players who preordered the game.

Hardcore Playlist

This playlist includes:

  • Team Deathmatch
  • Kill Confirmed
  • Domination
  • Search and Destroy

Hardcore modes feature friendly fire, no HUD, and increased damage, leading to faster player deaths.

Ranked Play

A moshpit of game modes designed for players of similar skill levels, offering a more balanced competitive experience.

Classic Playlist

This playlist includes:

  • Team Deathmatch
  • Kill Confirmed
  • Domination
  • Search and Destroy

These modes play identically to their standard versions but without any advanced movement mechanics like dashing.
