- 1Examine the folder on the floor in the Upper Panopticon to obtain the Dylan Faden Observation report. Note the level 6 door and proceed through to the secure area. Collect loot from the container on top of Dylan's cell block and find the tape recorder with Dylan Questioning behind whiteboards in the top left.
- 2Return to the Upper Panopticon Control Point and fast travel to Central Executive. Pick up the Jukebox Token to unlock the Put a Record On side mission.
- 3Go behind the war table on the right and find the folder on the table for the Television Proposal report.
Side Mission: Put a Record On
- Ask Arish about the Jukebox Token. He is at the war table near the Control Point and will explain that tokens are used with the Jukebox Object of Power near the security checkpoint.
- Use the token in the Jukebox to be transported to Quarry Site Beta in The Black Quarry.
- Follow the linear path to The Formation.
- Travel through the active, blinking gate to the island site. Use Levitate to cross between platforms as rocks rise. Note that other gates are blocked by invisible walls.
- Search the site for the missing expedition team. Progress by going up the slope from the entrance.
- Play the tape recorder found on the ground.
- Survive the waves of Hiss that invade the area. After defeating the last enemy, you will return to the Jukebox.
- Speak with Arish to turn in the quest. He will give you more Jukebox Tokens and The Formation research. This unlocks Expeditions mode.
Talk to Arish again to learn about his former squadmates, unlocking the Old Friends side mission.
Side Mission: Old Friends
- Fast travel to Ventilation and go through the door towards the Janitor's office. Defeat Hiss-corrupted Cho.
- Fast travel to the NSC Coolant Pumps Entrance and go through the tunnel to the NSC Coolant Pumps. Defeat Hiss-corrupted Heptonstall, a Hiss Distorted, by using Shield and Launch.
- Fast travel to the NSC Energy Converters Entrance and go to the Energy Converters structure. Defeat Hiss-corrupted Remus, a Hiss Elevated, using your Service Weapon.
- Fast travel to the Atlas Chamber. Defeat Hiss-corrupted Guy, a Hiss Warped, using Launch to break his shield.
- Head upstairs from the Atlas Chamber to the control room and proceed towards Black Rock Processing. Defeat Hiss-corrupted Hazzard, a Hiss Trooper, with sustained assault.
- In the top left of the chamber, levitate to a ledge leading to a storage area. Find the folder containing the Surfboard Supplement research.
- Return to the Atlas Chamber and fast travel to the Quarry Entrance. Go to the Quarry and fight Hiss-Corrupted Thomson, avoiding Astral Spikes.
- Fast travel back to Central Executive and report to Arish for two Ability points and a Shield Reload Efficiency mod.
Go into the Board room and examine the folder on a flight case on the left and the one on the table to acquire the Timeline of Events and Speech Analysis research. Talk to Emily to learn more about Dylan.
Speak with Dylan on the upper level
- Go up the stairs to the left of the Board Room and through the door guarded by two rangers.
- Approach Dylan for a scene.
- Speak to Dylan to receive the Level 6 Keycard.
Before continuing with the main quest, start the Old Growth side mission to access Hidden Locations.
Side Mission: Old Growth (Part 1)
- Fast travel to Parapsychology, go down the stairs, and follow the sign to Central Research. Go down the steps opposite, past the Shelter, to the overgrown area to find the entrance to The Pit.
- Platform your way to the bottom, collecting loot. Go through the doorway and left into an office. Find another loot container in a passage behind the office. In the office across the way, launch a power core into a wall receptacle to power the elevator back to Central Research.
- Head further into the area to find Dr. Underhill's lab guarded by two Rangers. Grab the loot container from the platform on the right.
