Enemies across all temples, from the Jaguar Temple to the Serpent Temple, gain increased health and deal substantially more damage. A single mistake that might have been survivable in normal mode can now lead to a swift demise. This means that every encounter, even with basic enemies like the Hollow Soldier, requires a more cautious and strategic approach. Prioritizing defensive maneuvers and exploiting enemy weaknesses becomes paramount.

The rate at which your Corruption meter fills is also accelerated in Hard Mode. This means you will be afflicted with Curses more frequently and at an earlier stage of your runs. Bosses also gain new attack patterns or enhanced versions of their existing abilities, requiring players to re-learn and adapt their strategies. For instance, the Avatar of the Serpent might employ its Venomous Spit more aggressively, leaving larger and more persistent pools of poison on the arena floor.
