In Dead or Alive Xtreme 3, you control both players during volleyball. The main character is controlled by the Left Thumbstick, and your partner by the Right Thumbstick.

Scoring and Rewards
Higher scoring yields higher rewards. A perfect 7-0 win grants approximately 400,000 Zack Dollars. The smaller the point difference, the lower the reward.
You also earn points for performing "Nice" moves, especially with a higher relationship level with your partner:
- NICE Serve (Well-timed Overhand or Jump Serve): 10,000 Zack Dollars
- NICE Spike (Well-timed spike that scores a point): 10,000 Zack Dollars
- NICE Block (Well-timed block that scores a point): 10,000 Zack Dollars
- KNOCK-DOWN (Knocking opponent fully over): 5,000 Zack Dollars (can be combined with Nice Spike if opponent is still down)
Winning a match grants 3 hearts from each teammate, while losing grants 1 heart each.
Opponent Difficulty
Volleyball can be somewhat RNG-dependent. It is recommended to avoid playing against Hard or Extreme Duos, or Hard/Extreme solos in other minigames. Acceptable Duos to play against include:
- Easy + Easy
- Easy + Normal
- Normal + Normal
- Normal + Hard
Teamwork and Friendship
Volleyball requires skill and forethought. In Girl Mode, gifting your teammate items they like increases your friendship level. Higher friendship leads to better teammate synchronization and focus.
Trophy
Winning 10 times in volleyball in Girl Mode unlocks the Beach Volleyball Master trophy.
