    Rounds 1-4: Place your first Spark Tower on the runners' heads as they exit to split them. Place a Spark Tower where the two Gatling Towers are for Round 2. Fully upgrade this tower to level three for Round 3. For Round 4, place a Spark Tower in the gap in the third row of Gatling Gun Towers (left to right); note this won't stop all runners, so be prepared to use an item.

    Rounds 5-8: For Round 5, place Spark Towers on the second and fourth squares across the middle of the map. In Round 6, use $20 to upgrade the left Spark Tower in the middle, then upgrade the far right Spark Tower once you hit $20 again. Upgrade the two middle Spark Towers to level three for Round 7. For Round 8, fully upgrade the Spark Tower between the three Gatling Gun Towers and consider using a Fire Fountain for bunched-up runners.

    Rounds 9-12: In Round 9, place a new Spark Tower between the two fully upgraded Gun Towers, and another to the right of the two level one Gun Towers (south of the left fully-upgraded Gun Tower). For Round 10, place a Spark Tower three squares right of the entrance Spark Tower and another to the south-east of the fully-upgraded right Gatling Gun Tower. Fully upgrade the Spark Tower two squares right of the entrance Spark Tower and upgrade the most southern Spark Tower by one level for Round 11; have an item ready for the one runner that will get through. In Round 12, place a fountain of fiery fury at the end of the path by the entrance, then place a Spark Tower two squares right of the most south-western level one Gun Tower and another to the right of the fully-upgraded right Gatling Gun Tower.

    Rounds 13-16: Upgrade the two most southern Spark Towers to level two for Round 13. For Round 14, upgrade the two Spark Towers in the south-west corner (entrance area) to level two and level three respectively; use an item in the central inverted ‘U-bend’ if you want to stop runners getting through. Upgrade the Spark Tower by the entrance to level three and place another in the top-right corner (beside the fully-upgraded Gatling Gun Tower) for Round 15; use an item like the Santa Strike for the Fokkers. For Round 16, spend all remaining money to upgrade the top three Spark Towers to level two each.

    Rounds 17-20: Place a Spark Tower on the left-hand side at the very bottom of the map and upgrade it to level two immediately for Round 17. Fully upgrade this new Spark Tower to level three and upgrade one of the northern Spark Towers (preferably a corner one) to level three for Round 18; a Spanish Flu or Fire Fountain on the inverted ‘U-Bend’ can help keep a clean sheet. Place your final Spark Tower in the last available square at the very bottom of the map for Round 19, then upgrade any Spark Tower not already at level three. When you hit $20 again, upgrade a tower.
Tips
  • You cannot upgrade Gatling Gun Towers; only Spark or Laser Towers can be upgraded, but Spark Towers are recommended.
  • Fokker aeroplanes appear from Round 5 onwards and are fast; keep items ready by the exit path to deal with them.
  • If you are letting units slip through in the early rounds, you should still have around 15 ‘hearts’ remaining.
  • The maze should be nearly complete by Round 13, focus on upgrading Spark Towers to level three.
  • Items are not strictly necessary for the final rounds if you have enough remaining hearts, but can help maintain a clean sheet.
  • The Santa Strike is recommended for the bunched-up Fokkers in Round 15.
