Master the 'Meanwhile' map in Fieldrunners 2 on Heroic difficulty! Learn the best tower placements and upgrade strategies to achieve three stars with this expert guide.

Alright, let's tackle 'Meanwhile' on Heroic difficulty. This map throws runners at you from the top, so we need to set up our defenses right from the start.

Rounds 1-5: Initial Setup

The runners will come straight down from the top of the map. Your best bet is to place your Gatling Towers as far left as possible, working from the top down. Don't worry about upgrading everything just yet. Focus on the tower closest to the bottom of the screen first – that's where they're currently hitting their stride, so upgrading it will create a solid bottleneck. A couple of fully upgraded Gatling Towers should handle the initial waves just fine.

Rounds 6-10: Building the U-Bend

You'll get a prompt to use the Glue Tower soon, but I'd say skip it for now. Use those free coins to drop two more Gatling Towers instead. We're going to create a U-bend that guides the runners back up towards the top of the map. Keep upgrading the second row of towers as the enemies will start to push past your first line. Once that second row is fully upgraded, save up your $5 for new towers to continue that U-bend back down towards the bottom, making their path even longer.

Rounds 11-15: Expanding the Path

You'll get $5 for destroying the baby tank – use that immediately to buy a new tower. Keep adding turrets to lengthen the path the Fieldrunners have to travel. Remember to upgrade the towers at the apex of those bends for maximum damage output.

Rounds 16-20: The Final Push

Aim to get up to four rows of Gatling Towers established. Once you have that, it's pretty much just a case of upgrading them all. You'll be prompted to use the missile tower, but honestly, use those 20 free coins to add more Gatling Towers and extend that winding path. On this map, more Gatling Towers offer a better return on investment than the missile tower.

Achieving Three Stars

Once you've got your four rows of Gatling Towers and they're all upgraded, you should be able to easily secure those three stars. Just keep an eye on your defenses and make sure everything stays topped up!
