Tanks: Let's Get Smashed!

General Tanking: Your primary goal is to hold enemy attention (aggro) on you while damage dealers (DPS) defeat them and healers keep you alive. Use defensive cooldowns not just during boss battles, but also when pulling large groups of enemies (mobs). In boss battles, you may not need to hold aggro on all enemies (adds), but be prepared to if they hit particularly hard, like Chirada and Suparna during the Garuda Extreme fight.

Target Marking: To help DPS focus on the correct targets, mark them in ascending order. This is especially useful for fights with multiple targets where only one advances battle progress, such as the first boss of Qarn Hard. Place marks on your hotbar for easy access.

Tank Swapping: In some end-game fights, you'll need to swap who is holding the boss or an additional target due to stacking debuffs. To tank swap, use Provoke (a Level 22 Gladiator skill) on the target and hit it with an enmity-generating skill like Shield Lob or Tomahawk.

Gladiator/Paladin Specifics: This job is a defensive, active-damage-reduction tank with the second-highest HP and highest defense. Key abilities include Flash (essential for enmity) and the Rage of Halone combo (Fast Blade -> Savage Blade -> Rage of Halone) for single-target enmity. Paladins gain a DPS mode (Sword Oath) and a Tank mode (Shield Oath).

Multiple Targets (Small Mob, 3 or less): After marking targets if necessary, open with Shield Lob. Then, alternate between Flash and the Rage of Halone combo, ensuring you never stop using Flash to maintain aggro. Use Circle of Scorn early.
