Section 04: Great Hall

Guide your defense in the Great Hall of Gears of War: Judgment. Learn turret placement, enemy waves, and find the COG Tag.

Alright, so you've just kicked off this mission, and the first thing you'll want to do is turn around. Right there on a pillar, you'll find the DECLASSIFIED MISSION. Activating this means Nemecysts will join the party later, making things a bit more spicy.

Declassified Mission 04: This makes Nemecysts spawn and attack during enemy waves, ramping up the difficulty.

Once you've decided whether to activate it, you've got about 1:30 to get your defenses sorted. Think of this part like Horde mode from Gears 3, but you can't buy or upgrade anything. You do get a Gnasher Sentinel turret and a Range Sentinel turret to deploy, though.

The area you're defending is this raised platform. You'll see a Laser Fence, a barbed wire fence, and some frag grenades and ammo nearby. Down below is a big gallery with lots of doors where enemies will pour out, and some will even pop up from the floor.

Here's the best setup: Place the ranged turret in the wall opening overlooking the stairs with the barbed wire (near the ammo stash). Then, put the Gnasher turret in the identical spot above the other set of stairs, the one with the Laser Fence.

Your goal is to survive two waves of Locust. Both will throw Boomers and Drones at you, and if you activated the declassified mission, Nemecysts too. The trick is to take them all down *before* they can break through the fences guarding your stairs. If they get past, they'll swarm your position, and it's game over.

You get a 30-second breather between waves to reload, grab ammo, and get ready. Just a heads-up, the second wave is bigger and throws a LOT more Boomers at you.

Once you've cleared out the last of them, head down to the ground floor. Look for the statue, and hop into the pond at its base to snag a COG TAG (04/48).

With that done, just head to the objective marker to wrap up this section.
