Section 08: Vaults

Walkthrough for the Vaults mission in Gears of War: Judgment. Includes enemy types, declassified mission details, and collectible locations.

As you begin the mission you will be in a room with a bunch of weapons lying about. Feel free to grab a Lancer, Gnasher, Retro Lancer, Sawed-off Shotgun or Frag Grenades. There is also the DECLASSIFIED MISSION symbol on the wall.

Declassified Mission 08: The next area will be filled with smoke that will impair your vision.

As you enter, there is a Boomshield propped up against a crate right in front of you. Grab that if you like. An Emergence Hole will open up at the back of the area to the left.

Now depending on whether you activated the declassified mission or not will determine what kind of enemies you will face in this room. With the Declassified mission activated, there is very little visibility and as such the game will spawn a good number of melee enemies such as cleavers and Wretches to come and attack you.

On the other hand, players can expect the usual random assortment of Locust baddies: 3-4 Boomers (or other heavies) a few Theron Guards and the occasional Kantus thrown in. Work your way through the room, using the short hallway to the left to move up in relative safety.

Clear out the immediate area and from the end of the left hand hallway continue straight ahead. As you do another Emergence Hole will appear in front and spawn a group of Heavies (usually Maulers or Boomers). Retreat back into the safety of the hallway and kill them as they approach.

Once the enemies from the second Emergence Hole have been cleared up, go over to where it was located. Behind this on the wall is the crimson omen logo. Look to the right of this to find a body next to the edge of the crater holding a COG TAG (08/48).

Find the stairs at the back of the room from where you entered and continue through the door at the top. Follow the hallway until a scene plays to complete the mission.

Note: At this point you will earn the Achievement – 'They Called Him Karn'.
