Part 9

Special Rank Opponents: All previously beaten VS characters return with improved golf levels (13, Adam at 14). One random opponent appears daily. You can force a new opponent by closing and reopening the application. Rules and courses (including DLC) are random. Beating Kato yields expensive bait for rare fish; beating Boris grants a faster cart.

DLC Course Issue: If the Nam Rong Bay DLC course (OUT) is selected for a VS match, the game will crash, requiring you to wait for the next day.

Earning Gems: Gems are primarily obtained from Special Rank tournaments (3-5 per round). Rarely, you might get a Triple Precision ball. Gems can also be found from rare fish (8-star rare fish and Blue-Green Damselfish at saltwater spots after defeating Kato again for deluxe bait). One-Shot Missions in tournaments (any rank, not Solo Mode) also award gems. These missions were added via a patch.

One character is unlocked by getting five official albatrosses.

Two characters are unlocked by getting THREE official condors (hole-in-one on a par 5). The albatross character can be unlocked beforehand, but the match occurs at Imperial Garden.

Turf War: A mode requiring PlayStation Plus; matches were difficult to find. Unlocked two BGM tracks for the Library.

Challenge Tourney Golfers: Encountered on open courses; cannot be copied even if added to the gallery.

Fishing Spots: Found on open courses, not shown on the map until fishing is unlocked.

Collectible Holes: Each course had a specific hole containing coins, gems, Turf War medal tokens, balls, and cosmetic items. The hole number followed a pattern across courses (e.g., Eagle City (OUT) at hole 1, Alpina Forest (OUT) at hole 3, Kanaloa Beach (OUT) at hole 5). This pattern applied to both OUT and IN courses.

9 Hole Rounds & Rankings: Submitting scores to daily rankings on the bonus course offered prizes. Birdies or better yielded extra coins (30 on non-bonus, 100 on bonus). The Extra Bonus could award 1000 coins. Disconnections returned players to the Home Area.

Lucky Chance: Occurred every 2 hours for 20 minutes, offering parts, gems, or coins. Optimized for short courses with Tornado Cups and Regular Tees, avoiding strong winds. Players could start a round before Lucky Chance opened and finish the last stroke during the event. Lucky Chance conditions changed daily.

Game Room: A mode for playing with friends, requiring PlayStation Plus. Allowed creating, searching for, or automatically joining rooms.

International Tournament: Held periodically with notifications from Hikari detailing rules and timing. Qualifiers took place on a specific course, with participation prizes awarded based on rank.
