Serpent Strategies:
- Wil's Strategy: Position six red minions on a platform overlooking Boomba birds to bombard them with fireballs. Use the remaining blue minions as a feint-and-retreat force to lure the serpent into striking, then sweep all blue minions onto its head. Summon them back with the B button as the naga retreats. Approximately ten strikes with 14 blue minions are sufficient. If blue minions are lost, Boomba lifeforce from the other side of the room and respawning blue bugs behind the stairs can replenish them.
- D's Strategy: Send one blue minion to get an egg and lure the Boomba birds to the serpent. Send the rest of your blue minions to the wheel. This strategy resulted in losing about four blue minions out of 19.
- Jeff's Strategy: With 20 blue minions, take a group of 5 blues and place a marker near the furthest location reachable by the Boomba birds on the right. Press B to bring one minion back under your control and aim it at the Boomba bird eggs. Use the right trigger to send it on a dash to grab an egg before being attacked. Use the sweep ability as the minion carries the egg to prevent harm from the birds. Guide the minion towards the Serpent and when close enough to attack, quickly sweep your blue in a circle to cause the Serpent to miss its attack and prevent Boombas from attacking your blue. Quickly move the blue behind the serpent and press B to call it back, unharmed. The Boombas will then swarm the dropped egg, and the Serpent will block them. The Boombas will attack the Serpent, causing substantial damage. Rinse and repeat this process to avoid losing minions. This is especially useful if you need 15 minions for large money sacks. Red minions can also be used to attack birds afterwards, with blues collecting lifeforce.
- Krispy Critters' Strategy: Position a guard marker for all minions just out of reach of the serpent's striking area. Summon one minion to attract the serpent. Take a couple of steps back and use the action button before the serpent strikes to kick the minion down. The serpent strikes but cannot grab the minion, allowing you to attack its head. The minion gets back up, and you repeat the process. If the serpent manages to get one minion, summon another and repeat.
- brian's Strategy: Use 2 brown minions and the rest green minions (e.g., 20). Guard marker the green minions and walk them up the platform until they are just out of reach of the serpent. When they become invisible, sweep your brown minions in and bring them back. When the Serpent tries to eat them, the green minions will attack it, killing it with one or two blows.
Tips
- The Boomba birds' eggs can be used to distract them and the serpent.
- Using the sweep ability while a minion carries an egg can prevent it from being harmed by birds.
- Kicking a summoned minion down before the serpent strikes can allow you to attack its head safely.
- Green minions are highly effective against the serpent when used with brown minions as bait.
- Spawning pits can provide additional minions.
- Ensure you have at least one red minion for later quests.
