Complete Part 11 of Half-Life: Blue Shift, including destroying the tank and navigating the railroad yard.
Walkthrough
- 1Engage the final marine by getting close to the tank without exposing his head, then use the shotgun. Finish him with the pistol when he moves behind the tank.
- 2Destroy the tank by crouching on its left side and shooting the turret with the assault rifle until it explodes. Alternatively, use the crowbar on the turret before shooting, but be cautious of explosion damage.
- 3For a riskier method, crouch on the tank's right side, lure it to rotate its turret, then crouch-walk underneath it. Position yourself so the cannon aims slightly right of the "MAINTENANCE ACCESS" sign and wait for it to fire.
- 4Alternative approach: Move slowly along the right tunnel wall until you see marines left of the truck. Retreat to the tunnel turn and use the pistol to eliminate them at the exit and in the distance. Quicksave and quickrestore to see if more appear.
- 5Once marines stop appearing, move slowly along the right wall to sneak-shoot the tank's turret. After it explodes, quicksave and move down the tunnel to find any remaining marines hiding left or right of the exit. If necessary, retreat to the tunnel turn to engage them.
- 6After the tank is destroyed, collect health packs and ammo between its flatbed and the next one. Jump into the truck's back for more health packs, an RPG, and rockets.
- 7Jump-crouch onto the connector between the tank's flatbed and the crate flatbed. Bash the crates to find more health packs and ammo. Drop down and bash crates near the crate flatbed for another rocket and health packs.
- 8Jump-crouch onto the connector on the back of the flatbed car near the truck. Bash through wooden crates to enter a blue storage car through a hole. Bash crates inside for more health packs and .357 ammo.
- 9Proceed through the maintenance access door near the tank and down the dark hallway to load section ba_yard5a.
- 10In the railroad yard, quicksave upon entering an open door. Run down the tunnel to the left to reach a flatbed car around the corner before the turret fires. Quickrestore if needed.
- 11Use the ladder on the back of the flatbed to climb up. Bash all wooden crates. When you reach the four-canister set, shoot the tip of each canister once with the pistol to create a hole in the wall. Make a regular save.
- 12Move near the hole to attract the attention of the four marines in the yard, then quickly retreat to the back of the flatbed. Shoot marines through the hole with the pistol as they appear.
- 13Be aware that two marines may lob AR grenades. If this happens, quickrestore and try to kill them with the .357. If unsuccessful, get off the flatbed, move next to the hole, and fire AR grenades through it. As a last resort, restore your regular save and use RPG rockets on the marines when they first appear.
- 14After defeating all four marines, go through the hole and collect their dropped weapons. Find the turntable control room near the large, round turntable track. Pick up armor from near the dead guard if needed.
- 15Use both controls on the panel to rotate the turntable and open the door next to the "RAILROAD YARD TOW ENGINE BAY 5" sign.
- 16Before entering the door, climb the raised concrete walkway and bash wooden crates for ammo and health packs.
- 17Go through the bay 5 door and past the storage car to find a small tow engine attached to it. Climb onto the tow engine's right side and use its control panel to back the storage car out of bay 5. If the panel is unresponsive, try moving and using it again.
- 18After the engine stops, get off and go to the back of the storage car. Use a C4 satchel bomb to land on the...
