    Send a collector with two Destroyers (DFF) as escorts to retrieve the first two core pieces. Send your remaining collectors to gather resources, supported by refineries.

    Research and upgrade the Battlecruiser (BC) technology. Do not build a second BC; instead, capture a Vaygr BC, as they are more powerful. Bring your Destroyers, BC, frigates, and 2-3 capture frigates to the main wreck.

    An enemy fleet will hyper-space in, consisting of 4-5 Destroyers and 15-20 frigates, split into two groups. The Destroyers are usually grouped together, with possibly one separate. They are accompanied by a carrier and a Shipyard (SY).

    Engage the enemy fleet on your terms. Concentrate your Destroyers, frigates, and captured Vaygr BC on their Destroyers. Once the enemy Destroyers are destroyed, eliminate the frigates.

    An enemy Vaygr fleet will appear, stealing the third core piece. Send your heavy ships to intercept them. The radiation is only near the core pieces, so your ships will be safe as long as they don't get too close. The enemy fleet includes 2 carriers, one BC, a few Destroyers, and many frigates. Focus all heavy firepower on the carrier and any Destroyers and frigates. If a ship's health drops to yellow, send it back to repair, ensuring it uses evasive maneuvers for maximum speed.

    After destroying the carrier, split your forces and attack the remaining Destroyers. The carrier will drop the third core piece when destroyed. You can retrieve it immediately or delay to build/research.

    You have a choice: attack the enemy Shipyard (SY) located to the top-left of the Bentus wreck, or skip it and retrieve the core fragment to win the mission. The SY is defended by Destroyers, frigates, and fighters. Capturing the Vaygr BC here provides more firepower than the Hiigaran equivalent.
Tips
  • Alternate Strategy 1: Send your Dreadnaught, Battlecruisers, Destroyers, and 4 collectors towards the furthest core piece early on. They will be halfway there when the enemy fleet arrives. Protect the left flank with torpedo frigates and pulsar corvettes. Destroy the incoming carrier immediately to prevent them from taking the cores. Afterwards, focus on the remaining Destroyers and the shipyard.
  • Alternate Strategy 2: The Vaygr BC that hyperspaces in with the carrier has a hyperspace module. Dock up to 5 fighter/corvette groups to this BC, and other ships to your carrier/SY/another BC. Combine them with Destroyers/frigates to form a strike force. This allows for surprise attacks in later missions by hyperspacing them next to an enemy SY.
  • Note: One player reported that the Vaygr BC in this mission did not have a hyperspace module, and the SY could not be captured.
