Discover every King Cobra, Taiwanese Cobra, Thai Cobra, Coral Snake, Milk Snake, Green Tree Python, Reticulated Python, and Giant Anaconda location in Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. Our guide details where to find each snake on the map.
Alright, so you’re looking to track down all the snakes in Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, huh? It’s a pretty neat little side activity, and these guys can be useful for crafting later on. Don't worry, I'll walk you through exactly where to find each one. Let's get started!
Snake A - King Cobra
You'll need to wait until you're playing through Operation Snake Eater for this one. The first place to look is in Dremuchij North. After a certain scene where you get disarmed, you'll regain control. Make a quick exit to the south to avoid a 'Caution' status, then immediately return to that same area. Look for the single tree that had fruit on it during the Virtuous Mission – the King Cobra likes to hang out in the grass right by its base.
You can also find the King Cobra later in Dremuchij South during Operation Snake Eater, and even later still in Bolshaya Past Crevice, which is that area where you have a fight with Ocelot.
Snake B - Taiwanese Cobra
Your first shot at finding the Taiwanese Cobra is in Chyornaya Peschera Cave Branch, right after your first real battle with Ocelot. It's a dark cave, so you might want to come back with the Torch later if you have trouble seeing. Head east/northeast from the start until you hit a tunnel. Go through it, and at the end, you should spot the snake on the ground. Keep an eye out in the crawlspaces in this area too, as you can find more Taiwanese Cobras there, and some can also be found later in Graniny Gorki Lab Exterior: Outside Walls.
Snake C - Thai Cobra
Once you get to Chyornaya Peschera Cave Entrance, which is after you've dealt with The Pain, you'll enter a large clearing filled with rats. You'll find your first Thai Cobras here – there are usually two of them. You'll also find more later in Krasnogorje Mountain Base, in an area that also has some Emperor Scorpions. Another one can be found in a cave in Krasnogorje Mountainside, where you'll pick up some ammo for the SVD and XM16E1.
Snake D - Coral Snake
Watch out for the Coral Snake, as it can poison you! When you reach Chyornyj Prud, the area just after your fight with the Ocelot unit, you'll find a few of these snakes on the ground right before the water. You'll also run into more in Bolshaya Past Crevice, in the area where you fight The Pain, and also in Svyatogornyj South.
Snake E - Milk Snake
The first place you'll spot a Milk Snake is in Chyornyj Prud, on the shore before the water, right when you enter the area. You'll find some Coral Snakes there too. You can also find more Milk Snakes in Graniny Gorki Lab Exterior: Outside Walls, once you make it to that location. Just a heads-up, the Coral Snake and Milk Snake look pretty similar, so pay attention!
Snake F - Green Tree Python
Your first encounter with the Green Tree Python will be during Operation Snake Eater. You'll start in Dremuchij East and then move to Dremuchij North. As soon as you drop down the ledge, head forward. When the path starts to get narrow, look up – you should see this snake hanging from a tree branch.
You can also find them in Graniny Gorki South, Svyatogornyj West, Sokrovenno South, and Rokovoj Bereg.
Snake G - Giant Anaconda
You can actually find the Giant Anaconda right at the very start of the game, in Dremuchij South during the Virtuous Mission. After you regain control, your first priority is grabbing your backpack from a tree. While you're climbing that tree and dropping down, check the ground around it – the Giant Anaconda likes to hang out there. If it's not in the grass, check the more barren spots nearby.
Later on, you'll find more in Sokrovenno West, near the waterfall where you fight The End, and also in Tikhogornyj after you escape Groznyj Grad, where you meet up with EVA.
Snake H - Reticulated Python
The Reticulated Python is a pretty common snake you'll find scattered throughout your journey. You can find them in Dremuchij North, Dremuchij South, Chyornaya Peschera Cave, Sokrovenno West, and Tikhogornyj.
