Optimal Resource Routes
Efficient resource gathering is paramount for survival in Post Trauma. This section details optimal routes for acquiring essential items, minimizing backtracking, and avoiding unnecessary encounters. Prioritize these paths, especially in the early game, to establish a strong foundation.
Early Game Essentials: Apartment Complex (Floors 1-3)
Your initial objective should be to secure basic healing items, a reliable light source, and a primary melee weapon. The Apartment Complex offers a relatively safe, albeit unsettling, starting zone for this.
- Floor 1 - Main Hallway:
- Flashlight: Immediately upon exiting your apartment, check the small utility closet directly across the hall. The Flashlight is on a shelf.
- Drained Batteries (x2): In the same utility closet, look on the floor next to a broken bucket.
- Rusty Pipe: Proceed down the main hallway. The Rusty Pipe is leaning against a wall near the flickering light fixture. This is your first reliable melee weapon.
- Bandages (x1): Enter the first accessible apartment on the left. Check the bathroom cabinet.
- Floor 2 - Residential Wing:
- Fresh Batteries (x1): Take the stairs to Floor 2. In the first apartment on the right, check the kitchen counter. These are crucial for your flashlight.
- Painkillers (x1): In the same apartment, look on the bedside table in the master bedroom.
- Small Key (Apartment 2B): Investigate the overturned furniture in the hallway leading to Apartment 2B. The key is tucked underneath a broken chair leg.
- Medical Syringe (Empty): Use the Small Key to enter Apartment 2B. In the living room, on the coffee table. This will be vital later for crafting.
- Floor 3 - Storage & Maintenance:
- Crowbar: Ascend to Floor 3. The Crowbar is wedged into a broken crate near the elevator shaft. This tool is essential for opening locked doors and some environmental puzzles.
- Bandages (x2): In the small storage room adjacent to the elevator, on a dusty shelf.
- Drained Batteries (x1): In the maintenance office (requires Crowbar to pry open the door), on the workbench.
Mid-Game Sustenance: Abandoned Hospital Wing (Ground Floor)
Once you've navigated the Apartment Complex, the Abandoned Hospital Wing becomes accessible. This area is more dangerous but offers superior medical supplies and crafting components.
- Reception Area:
- Hospital Map (Partial): On the main reception desk, pinned under a fallen monitor. This map will be invaluable for navigation.
- Painkillers (x2): In the staff breakroom, inside a locker.
- Emergency Room:
- Sterile Bandages (x3): On a gurney in the corner of the room. These heal more than regular bandages.
- Antiseptic Solution: Inside the medical cabinet (requires a simple lockpick, found in the Apartment Complex's laundry room, if you missed it earlier). Combine with Empty Syringe for a potent healing item.
- Pharmacy (Requires Keycard - Found in Doctor's Office, 1st Floor):
- Adrenaline Shot: On a shelf behind the counter. Use this in critical combat situations for a temporary stat boost.
- Fresh Batteries (x2): In a supply crate near the back wall.
- Empty Vial (x1): On a small table in the corner. Useful for crafting specific concoctions later.
Late-Game Preparations: Underground Research Lab (Level B1)
The Underground Research Lab is fraught with danger but holds the most advanced resources. Proceed with extreme caution and ensure you have ample healing and ammunition.
- Security Checkpoint:
- Security Keycard (Level B2 Access): On the desk in the security booth. Essential for deeper exploration.
- Handgun Ammo (x1 clip): In a locked drawer in the security booth (requires a specific code found on a nearby terminal).
- Bio-Containment Unit:
- Advanced Medkit: Inside a sealed containment locker (requires solving a light puzzle). This is one of the best healing items in the game.
- Research Notes (Crafting Recipe: Potent Stimulant): On a data pad near a defunct microscope. Unlocks a powerful crafting option.
- Workshop:
- Tool Kit: On the main workbench. Allows for weapon repairs and minor upgrades.
- Scrap Metal (x3): Scattered around the workshop floor. Crucial for crafting and repairs.
Remember, these routes are optimal but not exhaustive. Always be on the lookout for hidden stashes and alternative paths. Resource management is key to surviving the horrors of Post Trauma.
