Guide to "The Bad" DLC for Prince of Persia (2008). Learn strategies for the Mourning King boss fight and navigate challenging platforming sections.
Walkthrough
- 1After a scene where Elika flees, follow her path. Traverse beams, flagpoles, and walls, using Wall Runs and jumps to cross gaps.
- 2Continue platforming across fissures and beams, sliding down walls and Wall Running around corners.
- 3After a scene, you'll face the Mourning King. Initially, you fight alone, with limited combos. Use the new 'Sprint' ability (tap X when not hurt) for a QTE stun and a free combo.
- 4After a short while, reach Elika's body to revive her. Now with her magic attacks, your combos are restored. Engage the Mourning King with full power.
- 5Be aware of the Mourning King's altered attack patterns, including quick sword and push combos that are hard to block or deflect.
- 6You can still pin him against the wall for a button-mashing QTE. Watch out for his health regeneration and depleted shields.
- 7The boss fight ends prematurely after depleting about 2/3 of his health.
- 8After the boss fight, Elika is initially silent but does have new dialogue lines. Speak to her by pressing L2 to trigger them.
- 9Proceed through a wall with moving corruption spots, timing your jumps and Wall Runs carefully.
- 10Traverse across corruption wells and columns, using Wall Runs and double jumps.
- 11Face a wall with corruption and time your Wall Run to avoid it. Double jump to a flagpole, then time another corruption well and double jump again.
- 12Wall Run on the left wall past corruption spots, then double jump and Wall Run again to reach a landing.
- 13The first of seven soldiers of Ahriman may be present. Defeating it quickly can contribute to a difficult Trophy.
- 14Time your Wall Run carefully to grab a ring guarded by three moving corruption spots. Wait for the outer ones to move up before starting your Wall Run.
- 15Continue quickly through the platforming sequence until you land on a beam.
Tips

- Without Elika, your combos are limited. Sprint and the QTE stun are crucial early in the fight.
- The Mourning King is tougher than in the main game and takes less damage.
- Watch out for the Mourning King's counters and quick combos.
- Timing is critical for the corruption-filled platforming sections.
- Try to defeat the first soldier of Ahriman quickly for a Trophy.
- The platforming sequence after the ring guarded by corruption requires precise timing.
