They were trying to make a break for it, but things went sideways. Their lead car actually crashed into the mouth of a tunnel on highway N90, causing a massive pile-up with their other vehicles. Now, the surviving terrorists have retreated into this tunnel with the hostages, using the wrecked cars as cover. Your main goal here is to get in there and rescue those IMF delegates.

A few of those bad guys managed to grab some hostages and bolt while the local authorities were still setting up the perimeter. We think they had getaway cars waiting downslope, but they got caught in some bad weather and took a wrong turn onto highway N90. That's where they ended up crashing near the tunnel entrance. The rest of them have retreated inside the tunnel, using the wreckage for cover and shooting at the Swiss police. The tunnel's blocked off at the other end, so we're going to have to go in through the front.
