Learn the story of Rayman: 30th Anniversary Edition, how Mr. Dark stole the Protoon, and master all of Rayman's abilities like Punch, Hang, and Helicopter.

The valley was once quiet and peaceful, with the Protoon keeping things in balance. This changed when Mr. Dark stole the Protoon and scattered the Electoons across the world, locking them away. Betilla the Fairy was not strong enough to stop him and now needs a champion. Rayman is that hero, tasked with freeing the Electoons and bringing back the Protoon, while being wary of Mr. Dark.

Controls and Actions:

Permanent Abilities:

  • LEFT/RIGHT: Moves Rayman left and right.
  • UP: Looks up.
  • DOWN: Ducks to avoid projectiles.
  • DOWN + RIGHT: Crawl to fit into small spaces. You cannot punch while crawling.
  • R Button (Funny Face): Makes a funny face. This has no use except with the Livingstone-Tall enemy, who will run away from it. This ability is removed when you get the running ability.
  • A Button (Jump): Jumps to clear gaps and reach ledges.
  • B Button (Punch): The first power given by Betilla. Holding B charges the punch for greater distance. Used to defeat enemies.
  • Hang: The second ability from Betilla. Jump towards a ledge you can barely reach and press towards its side to hang on. You can then pull yourself up.
  • Grabbing: The third ability from Betilla. Punch a floating pink, red, or orange "O" to grab onto it and swing. You can jump to other "O"s while swinging.
  • Helicopter: The fourth ability from Betilla. Press A to jump, then A again in the air to spin your hair like a helicopter, allowing you to hover briefly. Used to reach distant ledges.
  • Run: Hold R while walking to run. Allows you to outrun pursuers and jump further, enabling the use of the Helicopter ability for very distant ledges. The Funny Face ability is lost upon gaining Run.

Non-Permanent Abilities:

  • SUPER HELICOPTER: Obtained via a potion from a Musician in certain levels. Allows unlimited Helicopter power. Press A while using it to go higher.
  • MAGIC SEED: Obtained from Tarayzan in early levels. Press R while standing still to plant a giant plant you can jump on to reach higher ledges. Usable unlimited times but only for the level it is found in.
  • FIREFLY: Obtained at Eat at Joes. Provides a small light around Rayman in dark areas. When you punch, the light moves with your fist, illuminating the path ahead.
