Master Zilla, also known as Orochi Zilla, is the final boss of the original Shadow Warrior. Learn about his role, personality, and appearances in the reboot.

Master Zilla

Alright, so you've made it this far in Shadow Warrior, and now you're facing the big bad himself, Master Zilla. He's the main antagonist and the final boss of the classic game. Think of him as a corrupt CEO and crime lord who decided a robotic samurai suit was the best way to take over the world.

Role in the Classic Game

Back in the day, Zilla Enterprises was basically running Japan, and Master Zilla was its head honcho. He used his most trusted guy, Lo Wang, to take out any competition. But, surprise surprise, Zilla had a much bigger, demon-summoning plan to conquer the world. Once Lo Wang found out, Zilla sent his goons after him. After Lo Wang survived that, he tracked Zilla to his secret volcano lair for the final showdown. Zilla put on his fancy robotic samurai armor, and it was a tough fight, but Lo Wang eventually beat him. Zilla, however, managed to escape.

After licking his wounds and losing most of his crew, Zilla hired some mercs from China to hunt Lo Wang down. He found out Lo Wang was visiting family in the US and thought he'd finally get him. Nope. Lo Wang showed up again, and in the final battle, Lo Wang defeated Zilla for good.

Shadow Warrior Reboot

Things get a bit different in the 2013 reboot and its sequel. Here, Zilla is after a piece of the Nobitsura Kage sword. He sends Lo Wang to buy it from an antique collector named Mizayaki for $2 million. Mizayaki, however, captures Lo Wang. Zilla tries to negotiate, but his call gets cut off by demons. Later, a guy named Enra warns Zilla that Lo Wang has betrayed him. Enra even heals Zilla's paralysis, giving him some demonic powers. They fight, but Zilla has to bail.

When Lo Wang returns with Hoji, he confronts Zilla again. After another fight, Lo Wang chops off Zilla's sword arm. Zilla escapes with the help of the Kyokagami twins. In the sequel, he's back as Orochi Zilla, leading Zilla Corps. He's mentioned a few times, but you meet him in person near the end. He traps Lo Wang and pilots a giant mech. After you beat him, this character Ameonna shows up, revealing she manipulated both of them. To stop her, Zilla lends Lo Wang the Arm of Orochi. Zilla shows up again in the final cutscene.

Personality

In the classic game, Master Zilla is pretty cold and ruthless. His ambition to control everything in Japan turned into a desire to take over the world. It's hinted that he wasn't always like this, but power definitely corrupted him.

In the reboot, he's still a massive ego maniac with some psychopathic tendencies and a serious God complex. He thinks he's above everyone. Even after Enra heals him and gives him powers, he's still focused on getting the Nobitsura Kage and using it against Enra. He's surprisingly loyal to Lo Wang, not believing Enra when he says Lo Wang betrayed him.
