Level 9. Monastery

Detailed walkthrough for Level 9: Monastery in Shadow Warrior. Find the Red Key, Silver Key, Gold Key, and Bronze Key, along with weapons and items to defeat ninjas and rippers.

You start the level with a spinning slicing trap that can kill all nearby ninjas. If any survive, finish them off. To your left, there's a picture with two horsemen; jump through it to find a grenade launcher. Stick to the left wall and proceed to the first small alcove on the left. Search the walls for an opening leading to a sewer. Behind the water on the middle left, you'll find the RED KEY. Grab the uzi clips and enter the tunnel. Defeat the ripper and the ninja ahead. Return to the room with the spinning slicing thing.

The red key door is located next to the silver key door. Use the silver key on the door and proceed inside. Eliminate all enemies in this area. Before heading to the north end and turning right, you can:

1. Pick up the items scattered in this room.
2. Hit the gong to open four panels in each corner, revealing numerous items and ammo.

Head to the opposite end, turn right, open the large doors, and go through. Descend the stairs, eliminating rippers and ninjas along the way. Behind a statue, you'll find a Riot Gun. A Uzi is next to the left column, and two small medikits are next to the right column. Ascend the small stairs to the dojo room, collecting caltrops and shotgun shells en route. Use the dojos to heal and fight enemies. Behind the corner opposite where you entered, there's a path upstairs (where a brown ninja was shooting from above). Go left and through the door. Inside, you'll find a large column; behind it are the SILVER KEY and some ninjas. Collect the silver key and the missile launcher behind it.

Return to the silver key door, which is in the room where hitting the gong opens panels, opposite the bronze key door. Use the SILVER KEY on this door and enter. The GOLD KEY is located next to the first statue on the right. Grab the GOLD KEY and defeat the ninjas blocking your path. Make your way back to the gold key door, which is near the spinning slicing thing, opposite the silver key door. Use the GOLD KEY on the door and proceed. Be quick, as the slicing trap can catch you while you're opening the door.

Go up the stairs, turn left, defeat the grey ninjas, proceed to the other end, and turn left to find the BRONZE KEY and a grenade launcher. Return to the bronze key door, located behind the red key door (where you found items in the four panels by hitting the gong).

Use the BRONZE KEY on the door and enter. Defeat the missile-launching ninjas here, stock up on missiles, and acquire the armor. To the right of the right statue is an opening. Enter this opening to find a Uzi. Finally, activate the end level switch to complete the level.
