M1903: Weapons

The M1903 is a solid starting sniper rifle in Sniper Elite 5, excelling at long ranges with minimal bullet drop. However, its significant noise, slow firing rate, and slow reload speed can be drawbacks, especially if stealth is a priority. You'll want to find more advanced weaponry as you progress.

Audible Range

The M1903 is the loudest rifle in the game at 162m. While a suppressor and quieter ammo can mitigate this, its base sound is considerable.

Zoom

With an 8x zoom, the M1903 allows you to eliminate targets from a distance before they are aware of your presence.

Magazine Size

The five-round magazine is generally sufficient for its intended use, but the slow reload can be problematic in intense firefights.

Sights

Various optical customizations are available for the M1903:

• A5 Win & Co: US issue sniper scope.
• No.32 M1: Issued to British snipers.
• A1 Optical: High-powered zoom, but slow to use due to weight and size.
• A2 Optical: Based on the A1, offering high-powered zoom with updated lens and sight sprint. Unlock requirement: Complete Mission 8: Rubble and Ruin.
• B4 Win & Co: Based on the A5, with slightly reduced zoom but faster aiming. Unlock requirement: Find the rifle workbench in Mission 8: Rubble and Ruin.
• M84: Unlock requirement: Find the rifle workbench in Mission 6: Liberation.
• No.32 MK2: Revised and improved optics, issued to British snipers. Unlock requirement: Find the rifle workbench in Mission 7: Secret Weapons.
• W&S M1913: Issued to US snipers in WWI, does not suffer from scope glint but is slow to use with low zoom power. Unlock requirement: Find the rifle workbench in Mission 5: Festung Guernsey.
