Alright, let's talk about workbenches in Sniper Elite 5. These are super important because they're the only place you can actually upgrade your weapons. Different workbenches specialize in different weapon types, so you'll want to find them all on a map before you move on to make sure your gear is as good as it can be.

We're going to cover the workbenches in Mission 1: The Atlantic Wall.

Workbench 1 - Rifles

This first workbench is pretty much right at the start of the mission. You'll get a secondary objective to “Find Vantage Point.” Inside the building associated with that objective, there's a room you can get into by picking the lock or using bolt cutters on the padlock. Once you're inside, look for a Nazi flag hanging on the wall – that's your clue! Workbenches always have a flag above them, which is a handy visual cue from the devs.

Workbench 2 - Pistols

Next up is the pistol workbench, and you'll find it in the armoury. This is a locked area, so you'll need to figure out how to get in. The armoury is in the north-west corner of the map, not too far from that massive gun that took out the submarine. To the right of the shed where they keep the shells, there's a locked building. You've got two main options here: either blow the door off with a Satchel charge, which is loud and will definitely attract attention, or you can try to find the Nazi officer who has the key. He's usually hanging around this area. Be warned, though, this spot is often crawling with enemies, so you might end up in a firefight anyway. It might be best to clear out the enemies first and then grab your upgrades.

Workbench 3 - SMGs

This last workbench is for your SMGs and is located in the attic of a house belonging to Marcel of the Resistance. You'll come across this area pretty late in the mission. The house itself is described as being really yellow and hard to miss. However, you can't get into the attic from inside the house. You'll need to shimmy up the vines on the outside of the building to reach the top floor. Inside, you'll find a stash of ammo and the workbench. Keep an eye out, as this workbench has a French Resistance flag above it, not a Nazi one.
