Clerics in Solasta 2 are divine spellcasters who serve as the spiritual heart of any adventuring party, capable of both healing allies and smiting foes with divine power. Their strength lies in their access to a wide array of spells, their ability to wear heavy armor, and their divine domain, which grants them unique abilities and spell lists. When choosing a Cleric, the selection of their Divine Domain is paramount, as it defines their role and playstyle.

Two potent Cleric domains are the Life Domain and the War Domain. The Life Domain is the quintessential healer, focusing on restoring hit points and bolstering the survivability of the party. At level 1, they gain "Disciple of Life," which causes their healing spells to restore an additional 2 hit points plus the spell's level. This means a simple Cure Wounds spell can become significantly more potent. Life Domain Clerics also gain access to powerful healing spells earlier than other Clerics, such as Mass Cure Wounds. This domain is ideal for players who want to be the primary support of the group, ensuring their companions stay alive through the toughest encounters, like those involving the dreaded Necromancer or his undead minions. A Life Domain build would focus on Wisdom and Constitution, wielding a mace and shield, and prioritizing spells like Healing Word and Beacon of Hope.

The War Domain, conversely, leans into the offensive capabilities of a Cleric, blending divine magic with martial prowess. At level 1, they gain "War Priest," allowing them to make a melee weapon attack as a bonus action after taking the Attack action. They also gain proficiency with heavy armor and martial weapons, making them formidable front-line combatants. War Domain Clerics gain access to spells like Spirit Guardians, which deals significant damage to nearby enemies while also providing a defensive aura. This domain is perfect for players who want a more aggressive playstyle, capable of both dealing damage and providing crucial support. A War Domain build might prioritize Strength and Wisdom, wielding a Flail of Ages and focusing on spells that enhance their combat effectiveness, such as Divine Favor.

Clerics also have access to Channel Divinity, a powerful resource that allows them to unleash potent divine effects. The specific uses of Channel Divinity vary by domain. For example, a Life Domain Cleric might use it to turn undead, while a War Domain Cleric could use it to gain advantage on attack rolls. Their spellcasting ability is Wisdom, and they prepare spells daily from the Cleric spell list, allowing for great flexibility in adapting to different challenges.
