Walkthrough

    Head out of the tunnel and run towards Gnasty Gnorc. He will lower a platform for you.

    Chase Gnasty Gnorc around the track. Use charge-jumping to gain speed. Be mindful of edges; stay to the right if the edge is on the left, and vice-versa. Slow down and stay in the middle if edges are on both sides. Cutting corners does not help.

    When Gnasty Gnorc attempts to squash you with his sceptre on his platform, stop circling and flame him to get a pink gem.

    He will run down a second tunnel. Before following, go around the track again to collect all 204 gems, bringing your total to 400 for the level.

    Slowly enter the tunnel and prepare for a platforming section over lava.

    As soon as you land, Gnasty Gnorc will run off, and the platforms will retract. Predict your jumps: jump if the next platform is adjacent, glide if it's further. Drop during glides and avoid bumping into walls.

    On the last couple of platforms, Gnasty Gnorc will fire energy balls. Use the circling strategy again to get in a second flame.

    After defeating Gnasty Gnorc, he will drop the last 100 gems of the level. Spyro will say "You're toast, Gnorc!".

    You will exit automatically, and the first ending cutscene will play.
Tips
  • Charge-jumping is effective for chasing thieves and Gnasty Gnorc.
  • If you fall off an edge, you will have to re-catch the thieves.
  • For the lava platforming section, predict your jumps and use gliding sparingly.

Bonus Level: Gnasty's Loot

Requirements: 100% completion (12000 gems, 80 dragons, 12 dragon eggs).

This is a free-flight bonus level. Use the X button to fly. You are limited to a certain height, but can raise this barrier by jumping up steps above invisible barriers.

  1. Fly ahead to the next piece of land and then to the left. Jump up the steps to raise the barrier.
  2. A Key Thief will be running around a building. Chase it using charge-jumps to collect 40 gems.
  3. From where the gems were, go diagonally to find chests with 55 gems.
  4. Go around the edge clockwise to find pink-topped chests.
  5. Fly over the gap to the smallest platform and collect 50 loose gems and chests.
  6. Use the key obtained earlier on the door. Inside, find 50 gems in wooden chests.
  7. Jump up the steps to raise the barrier further.
