A Thief's End

Phase 1: Tutorial
Rafe's initial attacks are scripted and serve as a tutorial. Follow the on-screen prompts (Triangle, Circle) to block and counter. Tap Triangle repeatedly when pinned to disarm him, then press Triangle again to block his attacks.

Phase 2: Unpredictable Attacks
Rafe's attacks become less predictable. Block his combos (often starting with a two-strike combo: Triangle, Circle) and press Square to stun him for a counterattack. Be prepared to tap Triangle to break free from holds. His common combo is two left swings (Circle, Circle). Continue blocking and countering until a specific hold occurs where Nate steps on Rafe's foot.

Phase 3: Increased Aggression
Rafe becomes more aggressive with combos of up to four attacks, including spin attacks. Spin attacks are either Triangle, Triangle or Circle, Circle. The typical combo starts with two left strikes and a spin, followed by a right strike (Circle, Circle, Triangle). Watch his arms carefully. You'll need to tap Triangle repeatedly to escape when pinned against a wall, and a slash across the abdomen leads to the next phase.

Phase 4: Wild Combos
Rafe's attacks are now extremely wild and long. A common combo is Triangle, Circle, Circle, Triangle, Triangle, Circle, though it can vary slightly. Play defensively, wait for him to finish a long combo, and then stun him for a counterattack. Back off when he recovers to avoid surprise attacks.

Phase 5: Final Confrontation
Nate pins Rafe against a wall; tap Triangle repeatedly to escape. When the camera pans to Sam, block Rafe's attacks with Triangle, Circle, Triangle, Triangle, Triangle, then tap Triangle repeatedly. After breaking free, block another sequence: Triangle, Circle, Triangle. When Nate's sword breaks, be ready to press Triangle when prompted.
