The Familiar Collector achievement rewards your dedication to befriending and acquiring a diverse range of magical companions. To unlock this, you must obtain at least 10 unique familiars, each offering distinct passive bonuses and active abilities. The journey begins with the starter familiar, often a Glimmering Sprite or a Shadow Cat, provided during character creation. As you progress, you'll encounter opportunities to bond with other creatures. The Fire Salamander can be found near volcanic vents and provides a +5% fire resistance bonus. The wise Owl Familiar, often found in the library archives, grants a +10% spell critical hit chance. To acquire the rare Crystal Golem, you must complete the "Guardian's Trial" quest line in the Crystal Caves, which involves defeating a stone elemental boss. Some familiars require specific items to befriend, such as the Moon Moth Dust needed to attract the elusive Lunar Moth. Others are obtained through completing specific challenges, like the "Beast Tamer" event in the Whispering Woods, which awards the Dire Wolf Pup upon successful completion. Interacting with the Familiar Master, Elara, in the academy courtyard will provide hints on how to find and recruit new companions. Each familiar has a unique bond level that increases with use, unlocking further passive benefits. The achievement will register once you have 10 distinct familiars in your stable, regardless of their bond level.
