This system is not merely cosmetic; it directly affects your interactions, available quests, and even the prices offered by merchants in the village of Oakhaven.

Engaging in acts of kindness, such as assisting Professor Eldrin with his research on rare herbs or helping a fellow student retrieve a lost grimoire, will bolster your Reputation: Benevolent. This positive standing might unlock special dialogue options, grant access to exclusive study groups, or even lead to discounts at the Oakhaven Apothecary. Conversely, resorting to underhanded tactics, like stealing ingredients from the academy's greenhouse or engaging in duels with students without provocation, will increase your Reputation: Nefarious. A negative reputation could lead to professors being less willing to offer guidance, students avoiding you, and potentially even facing disciplinary action from Headmaster Thorne.

The reputation system also ties into specific factions within Witchbrook. For example, consistently helping the members of the Alchemist's Guild will improve your standing with them, potentially granting you access to advanced potion recipes.
