Hey there! So, you've heard about Sharim, right? He's a pretty unique asset in Anno 1404 because he's your only real defense against those nasty disasters that can really set your economy back. Think of him as your island's personal bodyguard against earthquakes and other calamities. The main thing to remember is that disasters don't happen when Sharim is active on an island.

To get Sharim on your side, you'll need to meet a pretty steep requirement: you must have at least one Metropolis on your islands. That's the highest tier of settlement, so you'll be quite far into the game by the time you can afford him.

So, where should you put him? The best spot for Sharim is on the island that holds your most expensive buildings. Losing a few warehouses is one thing, but losing your Grand Palace or a fully upgraded Town Hall? That's a disaster in itself! By placing Sharim there, you're essentially insuring your most critical infrastructure.

The Catch: As I mentioned, Sharim's requirements are super high. By the time you can actually build him and meet the Metropolis requirement, you might find that your economy is so robust and your islands so well-established that the threat of disasters feels less critical.
