Level 1 – Town of Warikiya

BLK 1-01: Start by whipping candles to collect hearts, points, and power-ups for your whip. You'll also find a Dagger sub-weapon. Proceed through the door.

BLK 1-02: Encounter Skeletons; whip them and climb the stairs. In the chapel area, defeat Bats as you ascend, collecting hearts and points. The top-right candle contains Sacred Water. Beware of bone-throwing Skeletons at the top; time your movements to avoid their attacks. Drop down to defeat a Skeleton below. On the next screen, note the translucent floor that drops you down if you jump on it. Continue right, encountering Medusa Heads. Choose the higher path to proceed, though the lower path has a Pocket Watch.

BLK 1-03: Face infinitely-respawning Zombies; kill them and collect candles. One candle contains a Rosary, which clears the screen. Head down. On the next screen, defeat a Hunchback. Break the left block of the lower platform left of the stairs to find a hidden Leg of Werewolf for healing. Continue right, defeating two more Hunchbacks. Engage the Bone Pillar enemy, which shoots fireballs; whip the fireballs to destroy it. Enter the door.

BLK 1-04: Kill Zombies and randomly spawning Bats. Be cautious of a candle containing a Dagger sub-weapon. Continue right until you pass a crumpled skeleton. It will rise to become the boss.

BOSS: Skull Knight: This is the first boss. Its only attack is a downward sword slash. It constantly walks towards you. Use Sacred Water for the best effect, or the Axe. Stand to one side, use sub-weapons, and whip when possible, backing up as it approaches. You may need to take one hit to reposition.
